Paolo is the creator of the Music, Math & Literacy Project™ (MML Project™), which aims to raise academic achievement, foster creativity, and transform children’s development by integrating these three disciplines from early childhood. Rooted in the belief that learning is most powerful when it engages both the analytical and creative parts of the brain, the MML Project™ offers a uniquely interdisciplinary approach to early education—one that nurtures curiosity, deepens comprehension, and builds the foundations for lifelong success.  Research consistently shows that early exposure to music, math, and language-rich environments enhances cognitive development and long-term academic achievement. Music instruction supports verbal memory, literacy, and mathematical reasoning (Hallam, 2010; Guhn et al., 2019), while early math skills are among the strongest predictors of later school success (Duncan et al., 2007). 

Foundational literacy, similarly, is critical for lifelong learning (National Early Literacy Panel, 2008). To scale this integrated model with urgency and flexibility, we’ve chosen to implement the MML Project™ through a mission-driven company rather than a nonprofit. This structure allows for faster execution, cross-sector partnerships, and investment in tools that broaden access and impact. All implementation will be paired with rigorous evaluation, including both formative and summative assessments, to ensure measurable results and continuous improvement.

As a classically trained violinist and longtime leader in the education nonprofit sector, Paolo brings both artistic insight and practical experience to the design and implementation of the MML Project™. He has seen firsthand how access to music, strong foundational learning, and culturally responsive teaching can transform a child’s trajectory. This project reflects that dual perspective—blending creativity with evidence-based strategy to unlock potential in every learner. With the right partnerships, the MML Project™ can scale not only across the United States, but globally—advancing equity, expanding access, and creating long-term economic opportunity for children and communities around the world.
